Karen J. Purcell, MD, PhD, attended Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT, and received her medical degree and PhD in 1999. Furthermore, she conducted her obstetrics and gynecology residency at David Geffen School of Medicine of UCLA in Los Angeles, California (1999-2003). While there, Dr. Purcell served as Administrative Chief Resident and Wyeth-Ayerst Resident Reporter for both ASRM and ACOG. In addition, she received the Berlex Resident Teaching Award while at UCLA. Dr. Purcell completed her reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in San Francisco, CA (2003-2006). During her tenure at UCSF, she received the Endocrine Fellows Foundation Grant, the NIH Reproductive Sciences Training Grant, and the PacRim Grant. In addition, Dr. Purcell attained board certification in the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
